MEI has a Frightfully Good Time Celebrating Halloween
Happy Halloween from MEI! To celebrate the ghoulishly fun holiday, the MEI team held an afternoon bash featuring a potluck lunch and costume contest.
According to the National Retail Federation, witches are the top costume choice for adults this year while pirates and vampires also rank high thanks to popular television, movie and pop-culture characters. We didn’t see any witches arrive on their brooms this morning, but the office was filled with some comedic and outrageous homemade costumes.
The winner will be announced tomorrow. Who do you think should win “Best Costume?”

It was more fun than fright today, but everyone got into the spirit of the holiday dedicated to ghosts, goblins and of course, candy! Halloween candy sales average about 2 billion dollars annually in the United States. Some states however have a bigger sweet tooth then others. In fact, the state of Nevada came in at #1 as its residents spend 5.72 times more than the national average on candy.
Here are some other frightfully fun Halloween facts and stats:
- The first jack-o-lanterns were actually made from turnips
