MEI Earns High Marks in Consumer Goods Technology Magazine in 2010 Readers Choice Award

Company’s Trade Promotion Management Solution Recognized for Helping Consumer Packaged Goods Manufacturers Increase Control of Trade Spending

PITTSBURGH, PA – February 1, 2010 ––MEI Computer Technology Group, Inc. – a leading developer of trade promotion management solutions for the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry - today announced that it has received a 2010 Annual Reader’s Choice Award from Consumer Goods Technology (CGT) magazine. MEI is recognized for creating an overall positive customer experience and for the benefits its software brings to CPG manufacturers. MEI ranked fourth in the trade promotion management category and is recognized as part of the magazine’s annual Readers’ Choice issue.

“MEI continues to stand out as a leading trade promotion management provider, helping manufacturers gain better control and visibility into their trade spend,” said Alliston Ackerman, editor, CGT. “With trade spending representing the #2 line item on most manufacturer’s P&L statement, having a central location for all promotional information is critical to improving profits and strengthening brand.”

For the tenth year in a row, CGT asked its subscriber base to identify their most valued and used solution and service providers across 10 categories. Using a third party to survey executives from more than 165 leading CPG companies, these business and IT executives were asked to identify the solution provider they currently use within each category and rate their customer experience. The rating is based on the readers’ experience implementing and using the software and the value the solution brought to their business. This latest recognition is the fifth time MEI has been awarded an Annual Readers’ Choice Award.

The MEI Trade Promotion Management solution enables CPG companies to increase control of trade spending while improving forecast accuracy and deduction management results. Ultimately, MEI helps organizations compete with much larger competitors by improving the control of trade spending, facilitating integration of forecasting and promotion plans, obtaining a more effective reconciliation of deductions and payments, and allowing for embedded analysis throughout the entire cycle in order to reduce costs and operate more efficiently.

“In today’s economic environment and with industry analysts claiming that more than 14 percent of their revenue is spent on trade promotions, managing trade spend and forecasting processes has never been more important,” commented Lorne Schwartz, Chief Executive Officer of MEI. “We are thrilled to once again be recognized by our customers and for helping them achieve such remarkable bottom-line results.”
